Debut album by MDMD — my new experimental side-project.

The wider the possibilities of software synthesizers are, the more often musicians opt for experiments, deliberately setting themselves all sorts of limitations. For example, they abandon computers and limit themselves to a minimum amount of equipment, trying to use the available opportunities to the fullest. The album "SEQ" by MDMD (a new moniker of Midimode) is an example of such formal experiment. Here Sergey Baranov interacts with synthesizers and samplers rather than simply playing them, establishes a symbiosis and dialogue with the hardware. All the parts are recorded live and collected in a collage, while the floating tempo, broken synchronization and other artifacts are purposefully integrated into the compositions by the author. All in all, despite the intricate nerdy background, the album is emotional and atmospheric and boasts a rich melodic palette.
